ANTOETRA

Day 1 : Antoetra - Faliarivo - Antetezandrotra - Sakaivo (6h Walk / Camping)

Departure from Antoetra at 8 am for a day walk. The first part takes us to Faliarivo located on top of a hill with an open view of the surrounding valleys. Then go down passing at Antetezandrotra. Picnic lunch at noon. Another long descent of 30 minutes, with arranged steps in granite allows us to reach Sakaivo, another beautiful Zafimaniry village. Dinner and night camping near this village.

Day 2: Sakaivo - Amboasary - Ampasina (5h Walk / Camping)

After breakfast, start walking towards Fanandrana, a beautiful waterfall. Possibility to swim. After a few minutes, continue the walk on the trail that leads further South to the village of Ampasina where we spend the night.

Day 3 : Ampasina - Betsingaory - Maromanana (6h Walk / Camping)

We leave for the village of Betsingaory and then enter to Maromanana Tanala country. This village is located deep in a beautiful valley near a river. Many fruits and vegetables grow in abundance everywhere. We are always on the dirt trails for pedestrians only. Dinner and overnight camping near the village.

Day 4 : Maromanana - Fiadanana - Sandratsy (6h Walk / Camping)

We walk along the river Fiadanana until the village of the same name. There are rivers to cross and wet fields, it is likely that the feet are wet! Also, the trail is not accessible to cars because collapsed bridges prevent driving. The forest changes to make room for a beautiful range of bamboo of all sizes. It's very green. It is possible to bathe in the river above the village (between 5 and 10 minutes of walking to arrive at a beautiful natural pool). Overnight camping.

Day 5 : Sandratsy - Analamarina (6h Walk / Camping)

We continue walking to Analamarina. Beautiful valleys follow one another, work in the field is intense, and we meet many people on the road. Bivouac in the courtyard of a house.

Day 6 : Analamarina - Tsaratanana (5h Walk / Camping)

A walking trail makes its way through the yellow flowers. An easy walk away until Tsaratanana which means means "beautiful village" in the local language. Overnight camping.

Day 7: Tsaratanana - Ifanadiana - Ranomafana (3h30 Walk / Hotel)

It is an easy track for 16 km to reach Ifanadiana where we expect the car to drive us to Ranomafana. Ranomafana is a small village at 45mn away which is famous for its national park with huge forests and lemurs. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

End of our program.
