The vegetation is characterized by a mixture of dry deciduous forest, rainforest, swamps, raffia savannas, and many aquatic habitats.
The park is home to 129 bird species, including the Vanga Van Dam and the White Vanga. It is also one of the best places to discover one of Madagascar’s most beautiful lemurs, the sifaka (Propithecus species). Overnight in Ankarafantsika.
Day 4: Ankarafantsika – Mahajanga
After breakfast, continue the journey to Mahajanga. Here, the landscape resembles the African savannah, with vast open spaces populated by steppes, savannahs, Satrana palms (Bismarckia nobilis), and jujube trees. Check in at the hotel and enjoy a free afternoon.
