Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo (International Flight)
Arrival in Antananarivo.
Free time at leisure.
Day 2: Antananarivo – Nosy Be – Ankarana National Park
Early morning departure from your hotel. The car will take you to the port of Hell-Ville, the capital of Nosy Be. Transfer to the maritime port of Ankify on mainland Madagascar.
An air-conditioned 4×4 vehicle will be waiting with its driver and a tour guide licensed by Madagascar National Parks.
In Ambanja, you will discover the vast green Sambirano Valley with its large plantations of cocoa, vanilla, pepper, and perfume plants introduced to Madagascar. National Road 6 then takes you to Ambilobe, where you will visit the local market before lunch at Mahamasina.
Inside the park, there are many circuits to explore. You can admire the sacred bat caves, the “lost river,” and the Tsingy formations created by erosion of the limestone into sharp, knife-like pinnacles. You will also discover flora and fauna endemic to Madagascar.
Continue to Antsiranana at the northern tip of the island. Arrival in Diego-Suarez and check-in at the hotel. Dinner at a restaurant.
Day 3: Diego Suarez – Amber Mountain National Park
The team will pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 a.m. for the drive to Amber Mountain, the first national park created in Madagascar on October 28, 1958. This park preserves unique flora and fauna and is considered a biological treasure.
The climate is tropical and humid with very high annual rainfall (3,500–4,000 mm). The mountain hosts a beautiful, protected rainforest preserved from human impact and rich in biodiversity.
During your visit, you will see various plant species such as canarium trees, parasitic plants, vines, and ferns. Well-marked circuits allow easy exploration of the park.
The park is home to seven species of lemurs, including crowned lemurs, Sanford’s lemurs, bamboo lemurs, mouse lemurs, and possibly the aye-aye. You will also discover waterfalls, crater lakes, and spectacular views over northern Madagascar.
Lunch in Joffreville at the foot of the mountain, followed by a return to Diego-Suarez for a short city tour, exploring traces of Madagascar’s colonial past.
Day 4: Diego – Three Bays – Diego
Pickup from the hotel at 8:30 a.m. and drive to Sakalava Bay, where an island can be reached on foot during low tide. Continue to Dune Bay and Pigeon Bay, known for their white sand beaches and rich marine life.
Sakalava Bay is famous among windsurfing and kitesurfing enthusiasts in Madagascar. You may also walk along the bays for about three hours, visiting the former French military base.
Lunch in Ramena, a traditional fishing village, followed by swimming and relaxation. Dinner at a restaurant.
Day 5: Diego – Tsingy Rouge – Ankify – Nosy Be
Pick up from the hotel around 7:00 a.m. and drive to the Red Tsingy. Here you will discover an otherworldly landscape formed by erosion over time, creating colorful natural sculptures shaped by wind and rain.
