Manambato Tour

Day 1: ANTANANARIVO – ANDASIBE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, your personal driver will take you to the “Haute Ville” to enjoy the view of Tana. You can visit the Rova Palace and the Museum of Andafy Avaratra if you wish, but the entrance fees are not included in our price.

Afterwards, continue to Andasibe National Park, also known as Perinet Park. This park is only 138 km away from Tana, and the drive takes about four hours on a paved, winding road.

On the way, you may visit the Peyrieras Reserve, also known as Madagascar Exotic in Marozevo, owned by the naturalist André Peyrieras. The centre offers close viewing of chameleons, leaf-tailed geckos, butterflies, crocodiles, Verreaux’s sifaka, and common brown lemurs that are habituated to visitors. This visit is optional and can be skipped if you prefer.

You will then pass through the large town of Moramanga, where we will stop for lunch and allow you to photograph local people at the open market.

In the afternoon, explore Lemur Island, also known as Vakona Reserve. This reserve contains around 60 groups of lemurs, as well as tenrecs, birds, and crocodiles. Close photographs are guaranteed. After the visit, return to the hotel and later enjoy an optional night walk to see mouse lemurs and other nocturnal wildlife. This activity can be skipped if you are tired.

Day 2: TREK TO PERINET PARK – MANAMBATO – ANKANIN’NY NOFY

After breakfast, check out of the hotel, pack your luggage in the car, and visit Perinet National Park with your local guide. Andasibe hosts 11 species of lemurs, of which the largest, the Indri Indri, is easily spotted thanks to its impressive calls. It cannot survive in captivity and can only be admired in its natural habitat. The park also shelters several species of birds, reptiles, insects, and the diademed sifaka.

After the visit, return to the vehicle and drive to Manambato village, where you will take a motorboat to Ankanin’ny Nofy along the Pangalanes Channel. Your personal driver will wait for you in Toamasina after your stay in Ankanin’ny Nofy. The boat ride from Manambato to Ankanin’ny Nofy takes about one hour.

Day 3: RELAXATION AND SELF-GUIDED TOURING IN ANKANIN’NY NOFY

Ankanin’ny Nofy, meaning “Nest of Dreams,” offers a perfect place for relaxation with its beautiful beaches and interesting excursions. Its private natural reserve is rich in plant and animal life, including around ten species of lemurs living in complete freedom (sifakas, crowned lemurs, black-and-white ruffed lemurs, Propithecus, etc.).

You will find unique terrestrial wildlife here, as well as remarkable flora such as orchids, carnivorous plants, granadilla wood, mahogany trees, traveller’s palms, and some of the rarest Madagascan palm species (Dypsis, Ravenea, Orania, Voanioala, and Lemur Phoenix).

Day 4: ANKANIN’NY NOFY – TAMATAVE – MAHAMBO BEACH

After breakfast, take a motorboat from Ankanin’ny Nofy to Tamatave, where you will meet your personal driver. This boat ride takes about three hours along the Pangalanes Channel, offering views of lush green vegetation along the waterways.

Upon arrival in Tamatave, continue by car to Mahambo Beach. The distance from Tamatave to Mahambo is about 80 km, and the journey takes roughly two hours along the seaside.

Day 5: MAHAMBO BEACH – SOANIERANA IVONGO – SAINTE MARIE ISLAND

Leave Mahambo in the morning and drive to Soanierana Ivongo with your driver. From there, take the boat to Sainte Marie Island, which takes a couple of hours.

Upon arrival on Sainte Marie Island, your tour with us ends, and you will continue independently. Many taxi drivers and hotel representatives are available at the pier. Generally, the north and south of the island offer the best beaches.
